Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed
Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed was born on the 5th March 1963 at Laminga, Nasarawa State, Nigeria. He is the 5th and current Vice-Chancellor of the Nasarawa State University, Nigeria. Until his appointment as the acting (2018) and then substantive Vice Chancellor (2019), he was in the service of the University of Abuja, Nigeria where he rose from the ranks to become a Professor of Sociology with specialization in Political Sociology and Development. He has over twenty-seven year’s cognate experience in teaching, research and community service.
Under him, the University has been recording tremendous achievements since he assumed office. Notable among these are: Full accreditation of all the academic programmes by the National Universities Commission, the Establishment of the Institute of Molecular Diagnostic and infectious Disease in collaboration with the Frieburg Universitat in Germany and the World Health Organisation and the establishment of the Faculty of Engineering at the Gudi campus and the School of Medical Science.
He has also promoted the international linkage with Universities and Organizations abroad. The University presently has working agreements/linkages with some institutions and organizations in and outside the country. Some of these institutions are: Freiburg University, Germany, Dundee University, Scotland, Morgan State University, Baltimore in the States, University of Agriculture, Krakow, Poland, University of Economics, Katowice, Poland, Polonia University, Czestochowa, Poland, Islamic University, Uganda and etc. These agreements have led to exchange of staff and students between these Universities and the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Nigeria.
A consummate researcher and thorough-bred academic, he has published over 50 scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals and proceedings. Professor Mohammed has also attended and presented papers in many national and international conferences. He has served as editor, co-editor and consulting editor to many journals both national and international. He is a recipient of various awards and honours in his field. He has also graduated more than 70 graduate students.
Apart from his academic achievements, Professor Mohammed is an activist. He has been in the struggle for the development of tertiary education in Nigeria since his early career. He was at different times, the Chairman of the University of Abuja branch of the Academic Staff of Universities Union (ASUU), the Zonal Coordinator of the ASUU, Abuja, Convener, ASUU Committee on Ethics and Grievances and at different occasions led powerful delegations to many universities on behalf of the Union to resolve trade disputes between branches and the Managements of these different Universities. His involvement and knowledge of Union activities is responsible for the peaceful atmosphere between the Unions in the Campus and the University Management.

PROFESSOR OLAYEMI AKINWUMI
Professor Olayemi Akinwumi PhD, FHSN, AvHF, MNAL is a Distinguished Professor of History at Nasarawa State University,Keffi, Nigeria since 2005. He had his higher education at the University of Ilorin where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in 1985 followed by Master’s and PhD degrees in History in the same university. He is a Fellow of the Historical Society of Nigeria (HSN), and former President of the Historical Society, the first Academic Society in Nigeria.
Professor Olayemi Akinwumi began his academic career at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria and rose to become a senior Lecturer in 1996. He was at the Institut fur Ethonogie, Freie Universitat, Berlin from 1999 to 2004. He joined and has been in the services of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi since 2004.
He has won many international and national academic awards. Among the awards are the Prof Ali Mazrui academic awards for Academic Excellence in Kenya, the Stellenbosch Institute of Advanced Study Award (South Africa), the prestigious German Alexander von Humboldt award, Universitat Zurich (Switzerland) Nord-Sud-Kooperation Award, Europe Research Award (in University College, London) the Institute of Commonwealth Studies award (University of London), the German Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdiendt (DAAD), UNESCO Scholar (Committee for the Pedagogical Use of the General History of African Project in 2011) and the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) scholars at several times. He also had the Bayo kuku award by the Nigeria Academy of Letters.
Professor Akinwumi has served in various capacities in the University. He was the first substantive HOD history (2004-2007). He was the Deputy Dean of Arts (2004-2006). He was the Dean of Arts (2006-2010). In 2009, he was elected the Chairman, Committee of Deans and Directors. The same year, he was elected Senate representative in the Governing Council where he served in many committees.
In 2017, he was appointed as the Director of Institute of Governance and Development Studies In 2018 he became the Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies and in 2019, he was appointed for the second time, the Chairman of the Committee of Deans and Directors.
He is an erudite scholar with over 70 publications in national and international journals. Two of his major works are Conflict and Crises in Nigeria: A Political history since 1960 and the Colonial Contest for the Nigerian Region: A History of the German Participation. Both books were published in Germany. He has attended conferences in over 30 countries in the world.

THE DEPUTY VICE CHANCELLOR ADMINISTRATION
PROF. I.M. HARUNA
Ibrahim Muhammad Haruna is a Professor of Agronomy with the Department of Agronomy, Nasarawa State University, Keffi. He obtained, as qualifications, B.Sc. Botany in 1992, M.Sc Agronomy in 2001 and PhD Agronomy in 2010 all from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. His working experience spans from Assistant Lecturer with Nasarawa State College of Agriculture Lafia in 1997 to Professor of Agronomy at Nasarawa State University, Keffi in 2016. Apart from teaching and research, he has served in various capacities (General Studies Coordinator, Head, Department of Agronomy, Deputy Dean and Dean, Faculty of Agriculture) rendering administrative and community services. He was appointed Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, Nasarawa State University, Keffi on the 25th day of April, 2019. His research areas include farming systems, field crop nutrition and organic farming. He has published several articles in both National and International Journals. He is currently, a service provider to Nasarawa State Fadama III Project on Advisory services, Lead Agronomist for USAID/MARKETS II Rice value chain programme in Nasarawa State, a Consultant to GIZ as Master Trainer on good Agricultural Practices for Rice value chain and currently an Authorized Trainer for Sustainable Rice Platform Worldwide. He is a Resource Person to Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nation (FAO) on the control and Management of Fall Armyworm. He is a member of the National Task Force on the control of Fall Armyworm and a Fellow of the Horticultural Society of Nigeria.
BALA ISYAKA AHMED II
Bala Isyaka Ahmed II, the current Registrar of Nasarawa State University, Keffi was born on 1st February, 1962. He hails from Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. He holds First School Leaving Certificate from L. E. A Primary School, Panda (1973), West African School Certificate (WASC), Government Technical College, Bida (1979), Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination (IJMBE), School of Preliminary Studies (SPS), Keffi (1981) and Bachelor of Science (B. Sc) Sociology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1984). He graduated from Nasarawa State University, Keffi with Masters in Public Administration (MPA). He is currently a PhD student at Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
Bala I. Ahmed II worked as a journalist with the print media and rose to the position of the Editor of the Nation Newspaper from 1994 to 1996. He joined the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa in 1996 as Senior Assistant Registrar and Public Relation Officer. He was appointed Principal Assistant Registrar with Nasarawa State University in 2003 and served as Acting Registrar from 2004 to 2007. He was promoted Deputy Registrar in 2006 and became the third substantive Registrar of the University in 2017. He has served as Secretary and member of various Committees both statutory, standing and administrative committees in the University and Nasarawa State. He was the Chairman of the Committee on Strategies for Revenue Generation in Karu Local Government and member, High Powered Commission of Inquiry on Communal crisis in Jankwe Development Area. He was also an Executive member of Nasarawa State Youth Council. He was honored with the prestigious award of Professional Administrator by the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA).
Bala I. Ahmed II attended both local and international conferences centered on educational management and university administration. Countries he visited include South Africa, Egypt, Uganda, Ethiopia, China, Finland, Turkey and Poland. He is a Fellow of three professional bodies to include Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, Certified Institute of Management, Nigeria, Institute of Security Management and Operations, Nigeria and Member, Nigerian Institute of Management. His hobbies include reading, traveling and playing table tennis. He is married with children.
Dr. ABDULKADIR, Aliyu, born 15 June 1974 in Kaduna, Kaduna State. Attended Yusuf Dantsoho Primary School G.R.A. Kaduna1980-1986; Rimi College, Kaduna 1986-1992; K.S.C.O.E Kafanchan (NCE)1993-1996; Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (B. Library and Information Science) 1998-2002; (MLS) 2006-2011; (PhD) 2012-2016;A Certified Librarian of Nigeria (2011). Attended 22 continuous professional development programmes from 2003 to date in Nigeria, USA, South Africa, and Greece. Appointed Head of Unit Information Retrieval 2005-2007; Head of Unit Serial Management 2007-2009; Repository Manager, (Digitisation) 2010-2014; Head of Division, ICT Kashim Ibrahim Library 2012-2016; Acting Head of Department 2016-2017; University Librarian 2017-Date. Taught 11 undergraduate and 9 postgraduate courses, supervised 72 undergraduate project and 45 postgraduate dissertation from 2011-2019. MR. MICHAEL S. WAKI
Mr. Michael Sabo Waki was born on 25th May 1966 in Ogba in Akun Development Area in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area, Nasarawa State. He is currently the Bursar of the Nasarawa State University. He is a Fellow of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) and also a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).
He joined the Nasarawa State University, Keffi as Accountant 1 on 1st February, 2002 and rose to become the Deputy Bursar, a position he held until his appointment as the Bursar. As a pioneer staff of the Bursary, he was one of those who laid the firm foundation of the Department.
He attended the following institutions: Akwanga South Primary School from 1974-1980, Government Secondary School Wamba 1980-1985, Kaduna Polytechnic 1985 – 1997, Nigerian College of Accountancy, Jos in 2001 and Nasarawa State University, Keffi in 2008 and 2014. He has a Master Degree in Business Administration from the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Nigeria.
He is currently a member of several Committees in the University. These include Governing Council Finance and General Purpose Committee, University Management Committee, NSUK Consult Nigeria Ltd, and Board of NSUK Microfinance Bank Ltd.
He has attended many Local and International Conferences/ workshops and seminars. These include:
